Initial smell is a slight gassy, earthy aroma, though it's not pungent or loud. For the current state of NY cannabis, I'd say it smells pretty good. Packaged over a month ago — I assume the terps were above average when it was first packed.

Smoking it from a bowl, nothing special with the taste. It isn't perfectly smooth, but it's smoother than most products in the state. I haven't really had flower from New York where I said 'wow, that tastes good.'
