Method

How these numbers are produced

Dispensary counts come from our directory of New York City storefronts matched against the state's official OCM licensed-dispensary records; delivery counts come from those same licensed businesses that publish a delivery service, each re-checked on the date shown. Every figure on this page is recomputed from the underlying data whenever the site builds, so the page cannot drift out of step with the directory. Population figures are 2020 US Census borough counts. License records change constantly — always verify an individual business on New York's official verification page.

Sources:NY Office of Cannabis Management licensed-dispensary records via the state's official verification page and the public license dataset on data.ny.gov (opening dates retrieved 2026-08-01); operator-published delivery terms recorded on the dates shown on the delivery pages; 2020 US Census borough populations. Every derived figure names the retrieval date it was computed from.
